Help Send Wayne State Social Work Students to Lansing!

Help send Wayne State Social Work students to Lansing for Michigan’s largest annual gathering of social workers! Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD), is an all-day event featuring networking opportunities, social justice forums, and over twenty workshops on legislative issues, political action and advocacy efforts. Organized by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Michigan Chapter, LEAD day is an opportunity for social work students to participate in legislative advocacy, awareness and learn through classes and seminars, about issues impacting our communities and the work of social workers. This is truly a direct engagement learning opportunity and provides value to our student’s education and for their future careers!

The Challenge: The Wayne State School of Social Work Board of Visitors has generously agreed to cover the cost of renting a bus if you can help us fill it today! A gift of $55 will sponsor one student. If we are able to raise $2,750, the board will cover the cost to rent the bus, allowing us to send 50 students on this amazing experiential learning opportunity. Every gift amount will help, but gifts in increments of $55 are appreciated!
