Giving Day contributions of every size make a major difference! Support the Helping Individuals Go Higher Program, which helps financially stressed students reach their graduation goals by providing housing support, textbooks, clothing, transportation and child-care assistance.
HIGH Program Endowment
The HIGH Program seeks to assist students who are homeless or precariously housed so that they don't have to abandon their degree. From 2013 to 2018, the HIGH Program has helped 148 Wayne State students with various forms of assistance, and seeks to help many more in the future through the generous donations of compassionate individuals. The work that the HIGH program does is especially important now that the COVID-19 pandemic has added new challenges for students who are already struggling—such as trying to succeed in online classes with limited or no access to technology or not able to rely on campus resources. The infographic below showcases the annual cost of providing various forms of assistance to students in need.
The HIGH Program has been negatively impacted by COVID-19 suspending our normal fundraising activities, one of our primary sources of income. Your contribution will allow us to ensure the future of Wayne State’s most vulnerable students by funding housing, transportation, school supplies, and other forms of support.
